Quick Verdict
The Sonicare 6000 is the first model in the 2026 lineup to include a travel case and a Gum Care mode. It is available from $89 for the brush-only bundle up to $159 for the premium travel kit. If you travel regularly and care about gum health, the 6000 is a better value than stepping up to the 7100 or 7300.

Gum Care Mode
The Gum Care mode is the 6000's headline addition over the 5900. It combines a brushing motion with a lower-frequency pulsing action designed to massage and stimulate the gum line. This is useful for people with mild gum inflammation or early gingivitis who want a tool that supports their gum health between dental appointments. It is not a medical treatment, but the massaging action does increase blood circulation in the gum tissue.
Is the 6000 Worth It Over the 5900?
The 5900 and 6000 share the same motor, battery, and intensity system. You are paying $0–$70 more on the 6000 for the Gum Care mode and (depending on bundle) a travel case. If gum health is a concern or you travel and want a case, yes. If not, the 5900 at $89.99 is the smarter buy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Sonicare 6000 come with a travel case?
It depends on the bundle. The basic 6000 package does not include a case; the premium travel bundle ($159) does. Check the product listing carefully.
What is the difference between Sonicare 6000 and 7100?
The 7100 ($159.99) adds a fourth mode and Bluetooth app connectivity for real-time brushing coaching. The 6000 has the same cleaning power with no app. If you want the app, get the 7100. If not, the 6000 at the right bundle price offers similar features for less.
